Belief can be divided into many kinds. There is a kind of belief will not change with the historical environment and will exist forever. That is religion. Because, expect the historical and humanistic meaning, their slogan is always advocate a friendly, peaceful and forgiving world, we hope that it can become a padding of the emptiness. But the slogan and the doctrine will lead people to become mercy. One good turn deserves another. In front a hospital, there are some stalls selling fruit for the visitors. The peddlers learn that the visitors are always in a hurry, and they would not have time to check whether the goods they bought are adequate. So they gave short weight and made more profit. Among the dishonest peddlers, a woman who is ethnic Hui never did that kind of cheating, because she said that she had read Koran. Holding on the doctrine, she knew that she cannot cheat others and always became a mockery among the peddlers. One day, an officer bought some fruit there and found the rigs in it. The next day, some plainclothes staffs came and found only that woman is honest. Others were revoked the licenses and fined, while the woman was praised and awarded. She used her action to explain that belief can bring material benefits.
But now we have connected everything with material benefits in the real world, since, in this peaceful era, belief seems to loose its direction and supersede by all the material benefits. First, we ask belief for materiality, and then spirit. It is true that belief can bring to the believers material benefits, in many ways. Shaolin Temple is a sacred land for the Buddists. As far as I know, burning incense here cost from 600 to 60,000. And how many people come to here to ask for getting rich? This sacred land is on the verge of becoming a stock market. But mutual benefit does exist.
Some get benefit unconsciously when insisting on their belief, and others find the treasure hiding behind the belief. Both get something from which they believed in.
